“ I'm so sad that this place closed! They're replacing with an ayce bbq. But this was one of my go to places for asado. ”
“ The whole short ribs here are my favorite among all the BBQ places I've been to. They smoke the ribs an hour in advance and serve them South American-style with salsa. The pork belly is also fantastic, with excellent quality meat that's delicious when eaten in thick slices. The service is super friendly, and the vibe inside perfectly matches a BBQ restaurant. It's definitely a place I'd recommend to anyone! ”
“ I've lived in Ktown for years and never thought about coming into this plaza. They have asado style fresh LA galbi that they serve with Pica de Gallo that is to die for. Definitely coming here again. ”
“ Amazing quality! Whole beef ribs are very flavorful. Sirloin is really tender. Would definitely come back. Hole in the wall kbbq place in ktown. The service was really good as well, as they cook everything to medium rare for you. ”
“ Hidden gem in K-town LA! Meat quality is very good, beef ribs were great and the sirloin is very tender! It's a bit pricey, but worth the quality in my honest opinion. Highly recommended! ”
“ Would recommend calling ahead of time to make a reservation as it was busy even on a Tuesday night when I visited. I went with a reservation. It was pretty difficult to find a parking as the mall in which the restaurant was located was very busy and all the parking spots were taken. We ordered two tong gal bi (whole beef rib) to share between two of us and it was enough meat. The meat was already pre-grilled when we got there as we ordered ahead of time so we could start eating soon after sitting. They serve pico de gallo and some other side dishes to pair with the meat. Overall, the meat was soft and juicy. I wish they had cold or spicy on their menu to pair with the meat but they didn't. They gave soybean paste stew and rice at the end. Overall, the service was okay just like a typical korean restaurant. Would recommend going with many people so you can order different kinds of meat or other plates ”
“ Tucked away in the middle of a strip mall on Vermont, there's Book Sae Tong. The restaurant is a no frills KBBQ spot, mostly known for the tong galbi (beef ribs). You can call in advance and they'll prepare it for you so that it cuts the cooking time in half since the beef ribs are thick. The ladies will grill the meat for you and bring out the banchan and some pico de gallo. Service is friendly and warm. This is one of the few KBBQ restaurants that have predominantly Korean patrons, so you know it's good. ”
“ While Koreatown is brimming with delectable barbecue joints, this one stands out with its top-tier Tong Galbi. Although not the fanciest establishment, the focus here is on the mouthwatering flavors and fantastic service. The quality of the Tong Galbi is remarkable, and the pork belly is equally enticing. What truly stole the show for me, though, was their Doenjang Kalguksu (soybean paste noodle soup). It's a harmonious blend of rich flavors, not too salty, with delightfully chewy noodles that leave your taste buds craving more. If I were to pinpoint a single drawback, it would be the slight discomfort caused by the smoke while grilling the meat. However, the overall dining experience, complete with the exceptional quality of the dishes and the inviting ambiance, more than makes up for this minor inconvenience. ”
“ This is kbbq in Koreatown is quite different from the others. They are most known for their tong galbi which does take some time to cook! The owner was telling me that she recommends people to call ahead and they can start cooking it ahead of time so that you're not waiting too long! However what makes this place really unique is that they give you this pico de gallo and homemade hot sauce to eat with the meat! Pro tip: you should mix the hot sauce into the pico and eat it with the meat and it's so good! The side dishes that you get are pretty solid and their dwenjangjjigae is really good too! All in all this is a solid spot for a unique kbbq experience! But I do warn you that the price is pretty high but it's good quality meat and great service! ”
